Jetamors:
Nah.  The family was under the Fidelius Charm at that time, so if 
Lupin had been there then he would've known that Peter was the Secret 
Keeper.  Also, with Sirius distrusting Remus it would have been 
stupid to let Remus be one of the people allowed access to them.  I'm 
guessing the only people who had access to the Potters (before Peter 
broke the Charm) were Peter and possibly Sirius; remember, even 
Dumbledore didn't know about the switchup, so he couldn't reach them 
either.

The other question is what on earth happened to Lupin if he was 
there?  Why would he run away from the scene if baby Harry was still 
there?  And why didn't he hunt down Peter like Sirius did?
