What makes you think that Sirius was the Secret Keeper at the time?
And so far as Lupin knows Sirius betrayed the Potters and then killed
Peter - Sirius was never tried or questioned, remember, and there was
nothing to stop him telling Voldy *before* handing the job over to Peter,
so far as Lupin is concerned.
Who said he ran away?
Somebody called DD, Hagrid, etc. Or do you think Voldy did it?
