I also really like Kneasy's theory that Lupin was at GH on
Halloween. The reason why I think its plausible is because of what
Steve said: "the Secret Keeper is ALLOWED to reveal the secret."
Indeed, therefore isnt it possible that Peter was made the Secret
keeper on Monday; on Tuesday, keeping up his guise as a pal, told
Lupin where he could go visit his friends, the Potters; on
Wednesday, told Lord Thingy where he could find baby Harry; and got
in the shabang with Sirius on Thursday? Peter had the power to tell
*whoever* he wanted about the Potter's whereabouts - tell friends or
foes. It was his responsibility to keep the secret. He didn't.
To resolve the events at GH:
1)Lupin is unsuccessful at holding off LV, but LV is vaporized
anyway.
2)Lupin finds baby Harry alive and immediately calls Sirius, their
best bud.
3)When Sirius gets to GH on the bike, Lupin leaves to tell DD.
Lupin would not suspect Sirius until Thursday, when Sirius had the
toe-down with Peter. Lupin would not suspect Peter either at that
time because Lupin didn't even realize that the Potters were under
the Fideleus Charm when Peter told him their whereabouts. That
would resolve Lupin being at GH, DD knowing all the events of the
night, and Sirius being there when Hagrid got there, and the reasons
why Sirius suspected Lupin and Lupin suspected Sirius. Doesn't McG
and Fudge tell the story of that night beginning with "Not many
people know this, but the Potters were under the Fideleus
Charm..."? (in POA, in the 3 Broomsticks, books not with me, sorry).
About not realizing the Potters were under the Fideleus Charm, I
suppose the same would be true for 12 Grimmauld Place. If Narcissa
came around to see her aunt and uncle's house, she would be able to
enter the house if Kreacher let her in. She could go there, and
even go inside, but she wouldn't know the secret - that it was the
HQ for the Order.
celletiger - hoping to get someone to respond to my version of
events on Oct 31, 1981.
