No, that's not what I meant, but that thought did occur to me while I
wrote it. However, I don't think Ron and Hermione are quite at that
stage of their relationship yet.
Anyone want to wager whether it's book 6, book 7, or never when Ron
finally wakes up and realizes he has feelings for Hermione?

Let's ask ourselves if we really want a chapter to start with Harry
sitting in the Loo wishing he hadn't had those 12 Bean Burritos for lunch.
Actually, baths and showers have been mentioned in the books. In PoA
after the match is lost because Harry fell off his broom, Wood is in
the shower 'trying to drown himself', and in OoP, after a wet and
dirty Quidditch practice, Ron and Ginny finish their dinner and go for
a bath (not together I'm very sure). There is at least on other
incidence where a bath is mention, but I don't remember which book or
the exact circumstance right now.
In OoP, Hermione mentions stopping to 'spend a penny', and having
other girls in the toilet eager to hear more information about Harry
and the Quibbler article. Also, it in her desperate effort to find the
nearest bathroom that Hermione stumbles across Moaning Myrtle (CoS).
Then, of course, there is the very luxurious and appealing Perfect's
bath (GoF). How many late night snogging parties do you think have
gone on in there?
In conclusion, I agree with your point that including these mundane
'Harry brushed his teeth', 'Harry took a shower', 30 or 40 times in
every book would get a bit tedious. Far more important to move the
story along.
Just a thought?
