> > In OOTP, when When Harry goes to chat with Sirius through
the fireplace, Lupin says that it is his responsibility to press
Snape about teaching Harry occlumency again. But we do not
for sure that Lupin did so, do we? That I think is the most dodgy
thing about Lupin in this book. Somehow he is not as attractive
as in Book 3 and we do not what his mysterious work is. There
is something dodgy about the man , as if he is hiding something
and htere would not want to draw attention to himself. I do not
think he is death eater or a spy but to me he has definitely
something nasty up his sleeve.
 what do you think?<<

Hi, Adi! You will find that Lupin has lots of staunch defenders on
this board-- and then there's me <veg>. We just had an
interesting discussion on his possible motives for betraying the
Order.

I think the most dodgy thing in OOP is that we don't see who
fired at Sirius, but there are others, not necessarily Lupin related:

The glance which Sirius and Lupin exchange before beginning
to tell Harry what's been going on. What are they hiding?

Lupin's mysterious business

Lupin's boggart: is it really the full moon? or a prophecy orb?

Sturgis Podmore's mysterious absence the time before he is
caught at the MoM

Voldemort's happiness coinciding with Sturgis Podmore's
sentencing, not only unexplained, but never linked by Harry

The Daily Prophet not mentioning that S.P. is a friend of
Dumbledore's, while they are in the midst of a campaign to
discredit him. If the Ministry doesn't know that S.P. is a friend of
Dumbledore, does Voldemort? If not, why is he so happy that his
agent is going to Azkaban? If so, *how did he find out?*

Percy pointing out that S.P. is a friend of Dumbledore in a letter
that he sends in secret and words in such a way that Ron will be
certain not to show it to anybody he does not trust.

Lupin's reminders to Harry to study Occlumency. He seems very
intense about it --much different than his attitude about teaching
Harry the Patronus.

Maybe ESE!Lupin was helping Voldemort. Or
maybe
I-hate-being-ever-so-evil-but-I-haven't-got-the-guts-to-quit!Lupin
was actually hoping that the Occlumency lessons would work.
