This bothers me, too.  Other than the conversation by the tapestry, 
we never see Harry and Sirius have a conversation that is mostly just 
between the two of them at any time that Harry's at 12 Grimmauld 
Place.  Doesn't seem at all logical to me, either. 

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to find out in later books 
that they did have some conversations like this, but the gist of 
those conversations will only come to light when they have a bearing 
on moving the plot forward.  I can see something happening in the 
next book that causes Harry to reflect...."Draco's words suddenly 
made Harry remember something that Sirius had told him last summer..."
And, lo and behold, we will be given more information that we were 
not allowed to have in OoP.
