As it happens, that's exactly what I was thinking when I read the 
transcript of the March interview. But I'm a Harry/Draco shipper, and 
this is a *very* anti-slash board. I had to break out the high-
pressure hoses to fend off the flaming arrows last time I broached 
the subject, so don't hurt me. 

Okay, so between Harry and Ron, I have to say that all signs point to 
Ron as Hermione's childhood sweetheart. The non-hug at the end of the 
CoS movie was cleared with JKR, and the character Ron was based on an 
individual with whom JKR had a kid!Ron/kid!Hermione relationship who 
is now "a very dear friend". The guy has a sort of Ronnish look about 
him, except his hair is not so red.
