Yblitzka's turn:
Actually, IMO it is referring to the One vs. the Dark Lord
text quote:
"The One with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches. Born to
those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies. And
the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power that
the Dark Lord knows not, and either must die at the hand of the
other, for neither can live while the other survives."
It's an interesting thought, but I don't think it works. The prophecy
is worded such that if what you are arguing is true, then the Dark
Lord knows not of the power of his person, or Harry has a power
unknown to his persona. It just doesn't seem right.
HOWEVER, you do have one point that I wholeheartedly agree with: the
prophecy does not mention persons, just personas. Many people are
taking this to mean that "The One" is really Neville, but that's not
an arguement for this particular thread. The words say Dark Lord and
The One, not Tom Riddle and Harry Potter. So it's possible that Tom
will be separated from LV (the Dark Lord), and that will play a role
in how he is defeated. Perhaps TR will not die. He was once a good
kid too, ya know...
