RMM whether anyone turns out to agree with you, you've brought up a
whole new way of looking at this. :-)
I do think the logic above is circular. To think Black must have
suspected Lupin because Lupin had known LV...
Rather I think the Order knew there was a spy in their midst and had
been for about a year. We know it had become a suspicious time. So,
Lupin had suspected Black had gone to LV. Black thought Lupin had
gone to LV. But, actually neither one had.
...now however, if you believe in ESE!Black or ESE!Lupin, that
changes the picture!
