Was Lupin 11 when he came to Hogwarts?

I am not sure. Whilst it would surely be around 11 (ie slightly 
older). I am not so sure he was 11. 

He says that it didn't look like he could go to Hogwarts until 
Dumbledore became Headmaster, does this mean that he was rejected by 
Dippet?

Also JKR constantly refers to him looking old and tired, now where as 
this is mostly to do with his lythancopy, if he was 11 when he went 
to Hogwarts he would only be 34/35 in PoA, which is not very old for 
a wizard surely. Considering that Wizards supposedly live longer than 
Muggles.   

Prove me wrong Guys!
