The thing is, as much as I *don't* believe in Vampire!Snape, there 
are still folks who can hang onto that theory because what JKR said 
to "Is there a link between Snape and vampires?" was "Erm...I don't 
think so."  You see?  It sounded like a "no" to me, but why doesn't 
she just come out and say "NO!" It's the way she leaves a teeny tiny 
window there that muddies the waters.
