But that would make it a bit odd to be the "Noble and Most Ancient
House of Black" if it had only been the *Black* home for one
generation, wouldn't it?  However, while there is very little
description of Mrs. Black, the *is* this: "...the yellowing skin of
her face..."  (at the end of OotP Ch.4).  Now maybe it's just that
she's old or something, but I am quite certain that we have heard
Snape described as having yellowish skin (on the other hand, I don't
remember who *else* we may have seen described as having yellowish
skin...maybe it's more common in Jo's writting than I am thinking...)
