Kim chimes in:
Scabbers would turn into a "rat-wolf" wouldn't he?  Since werewolf 
means "man-wolf"?  Shades of Bunnicula... (if anyone else is familiar 
with that children's book).  Then again, if a werewolf bit a rat, how 
much rat would be left to even turn into a rat-wolf...?  ;-)
