Now Cory:

As much as I love JKR's penchant for hiding the ball, I have to agree 
with Patrick on this one.  As has been said many times before, 
sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.  

Another thought I had while reading this thread is this:  if JKR 
wanted to keep the Order's origin a secret, why would she have 
Hermione mention it at all?  She could have simply had Hermione tell 
us that it is a society led by Dumbledore that is fighting Voldemort.
