  Geoff:
I've always believed that to be a bit of hyperbole on Umbridge's
part. She can obviously make life very difficult for Harry at
Hogwarts but I cannot see how she could impose a life time ban
outside the school. I would think that the school ban will have been
revoked by the next school year; I tihkn Minerva would be pushing for
  that :-)

kitten: Yes I agree, I don't see her having any control over who can play Quiddich... and even on the off chance she did, I'm pretty sure it will be a moot point in book six... I would like to ask, though, while we are "some what" on the subject... What exactly did Umbridge do before she came to hogwarts to teach? I recall her being at Harry's Trial, but I don't recall it ever being mentioned in the book.

Re the original message. Harry couldn't be a professional Quidditch
player - he would still be a student at school and wouldn't be able
to meet the demands of both positions, even if it were allowed.

kitten... I don't think Harry will ever be a professional quidditch player, during hogwarts or after... I am reminded though, that School didn't stop Victor from being one.
