Which Book Should I start With?

Just don't read 4 or 5 before 3. Having come to this list at all in 
the first place, you're probably spoiled on most of the important 
points, but nearly every plot twist from the third book makes an 
appearance later, and the less you know about the end before you 
read it, the better. 

Otherwise, yes, do read 1 and 2; as others have said, they provide 
lots of helpful and interesting background you don't get from the 
movies.
