Jen: And a philosophy honed and updated over 150 years! Dumbledore
has witnessed many changes over the course of a long lifetime. He
knows there are no guarantees, that one generation's prize student
can become the next generation's Dark Lord; that life is cyclical,
not linear. After seeing almost every form of creation and
degradation in the human experience--I don't think he's tallying up
the balance sheet at the end of the day.
