Cathy:
There were at least three as all three, HRH, flew them to catch the key.  If DD had only expected one person to be down there trying to steal the stone, why would there have been more than one broom?  In fact, why was there a broom at all?  If the object was to keep a person *from getting to the stone* why give them the means to catch the key in the first place?
