Alla:

I think I take a grave enough view of how Sirius and James behaved in 
that scene, but I think that begs the comparison question:

How would you feel if  Neville was your child and Snape was his 
teacher?


By the way, I would have been very angry if that was done to my 
child, but afterwards I would have also made sure that my child never 
mutters the word 'mudblood" ever again.
