 Severus ie) Sever: Could his role be to sever relations between
            muggles and pure bloods or sever the tie that binds 
            Harry to Voldemort.
             Severe: Is intimidating and lacks empathy. Punishes 
            often. Strict.Brought up by a severe father.
         
            or maybe just sever us in our jugular!! said with tongue 
in cheek waiting for the next anti-vampire theory attack.

P.S. Spell survives backwards and remove the IV and you get SEVRUS. 
Hmmm.
