You and me both! All shipping aside, I think that it wouldn't hurt 
Harry to actually verbalize more how great Hermione is, because if 
there's anyone out there who has risked more than anybody else for 
him, is Hermione.

I'm pretty sure that might be the case in Book Six, judging by his 
reaction to her death scare at the DoM. Maybe after the initial shock 
of Sirius' death, it will sink in that he almost lost Hermione too 
and that might lead him to be more verbal in his appreciation.
