Sorry, not IMO. McGonagall is strict with everybody. Snape is 
arbitrarily unfair. (really don't want to get into my "he is not only 
unfair, but abusive" mood right now) 

Even if you disagree that he is abusive, I really don't see how 
anybody can question Snape's unfairness.

Even though the end of OoP hints that Snape and McGonagall have 
friendly relationship, in my mind Snape has a veeeeeeery long way to 
go before he becomes as good a teacher as Minerva is. :o)
