It's more than just a little ironic that JKR's initial answer to the 
FAQ was as mixed up as the original publication of her manuscript!!

Well, I guess the debate is settled (again) (for now).  But it was 
fun to think of theories to explain James having died after Lily.

It still leaves the question of why LV's killing curse directed at 
Harry doesn't show up in the Priori Incantatem.
