What if it was just a statement, not a threat?  When he was talking 
about the one who left him forever, who would be punished, maybe it 
was just a statement about Crouch risking his life in his service 
and Voldemort knew he would die, so he would be gone from them 
forever, but also he would be punished (captured and "kissed"). So 
that could leave Snape to be the loyal one at Hogwarts.
