I'm with you Diana.  See page 640 of Order of the Phoenix (USA 
version) which says:  "Snape-the-teenager had a stringy, pallid look 
about him, like a plant kept in the dark".  Yet we know he goes 
outside in the sun.  If they can find a way to have a werewolf at 
school, why not a vampire?   A potion, perhaps, that does not let the 
sun through even when you are out in it?  

Draco is another candidate for Vampire.  He is always described as 
pale.
