I do believe Kneasy is both making a joke and showing his age by using an
old expression more common to the 1950's.

Since we're discussing Phoenix feathers, he's tying it in through the
feathers, so to speak.

'Horse Feathers' is an expression that means "nonesense"...or, for the more
modern and less proper of us, it would translate as ' Bull-sh&*!'
