> Is there now the possibility of a third Fawkes wand coming into play?
As I've written before, Fawkes is dropping feathers "all over the place" e.g.
"Its eyes were dull and even as Harry watched, a couple more feathers fell out of its tail." CoS, "Polyjuice Potion" p.205
So I still think the wand feather must be "donated" under special circumstances from the phoenix at its best. Also - since Olivander bases on these three wand-cores - I guess there must be more feather-giving phoenixes around, otherwise such wands would be extremem rarity, which should be noted in the books.
I can't see anything strange that two wands, even crafted at the same time were sold over fifty years apart (I think it was Tom Riddle who bought the wand, not Thingy). The shop with such a history and with such specific clientele may ery well stack wands made even hundreds years ago, which hasn't yet found "their" wizard.
That its Harry who bought Thingy's brother wand? Fate is guiding hero's hand, m'dears...
Cheers, Viridis
