Snape, trying very hard not to smile? Or is he just allergic to cats?

So, he must have been working on his own without DD's
knowldege (a lot like Harry, isn't he?) If he went to Poppy, DD
would find out. (Does Snape really think he can keep this sort of
thing from DD?) But why then did he choose the teachers'
lounge? Wouldn't his own office be a better place?<<

Come on, Pippin! I thought you gracefully conceded defeat on the
vampire theory when the latest chat came out. (Besides, if there were
anything unusual about Snape's leg, Harry would have noticed it there
and in the Pensieve scene. :-) )
I agree that DD and Snape have been working hand in glove for as long
as Snape has been teaching there (with McGonagall as another key team
member). I also agree that the portraits are part of DD's spy network.
(Did the Fat Lady report Harry's conversation with Ron about
Umbridge's sadistic punishment? She should have!)
But I disagree about Snape's reasons for going to Filch rather than
Madam Pomfrey with his wound. It required less explaining, for one
thing. He might have wanted to keep his suspicions about Quirrell from
the other staff members rather than from DD, and he certainly didn't
want any students to know. Those who were petrified would be
oblivious, of course, but suppose someone showed up to receive the WW
equivalent of an aspirin or a band aid? Better to receive treatment
from Filch than risk being seen. (It didn't work of course. That
Potter is everywhere he shouldn't be!) Also, if Snape had a grudge
against Poppy or any other staff member (other than whoever is
teaching DADA), we'd surely have seen it by now.
