Why does anyone like anyone? Sometimes you can't help who you're 
attracted to. 

I think a better question is why did Krum like Hermione, he could 
have had any girl at Hogwarts yet he picked the plain bookworm. Ron 
had trouble finding a date to the Yule ball, therefore he is not so 
attractive himself.
