Hey everyone. I am just trying to mesh all the posts that I want to respond to all in one. If you become confused I am sorry.
Robert Jones says:
Why does Ron have a crush on Hermione?
I (Tiffany) say: I think it has alot to do with how he views her. As someone told me at one time your going to marry someone on like your opposite parent. I am not saying they are going to marry it's just when you look for a significant other you tend to find some like your mom or dad. I think that's what he sees in her. She's always there to help him with homework, and she constantly naggs him, but instead of just dealing with that he usally argues back at her and vise versa. I also think it had a lot to do with her being such a good friend to him.
Arya says:
This 'crush', to me, began in GoF and the Yule Ball thing. In fact, I pinpoint the turning point to Ron's attitude towards Hermione at the "You're a girl" statement.
Therefore, prior to Ron's revelation of "Hermione-you're a girl!", Hermione had just be categorized as 'a friend'.
I (Tiffany) say: I know thats your oppinion but I have to put in my two sence worth. I think the whole "crush" {the do you like me circle yes or no type of crush.} started back in year 2 CoS. But I agree with you on Ron having Hermione catagorized her as just a friend untill the Ball. I think when he stated that "your a girl" made him realize the crush for her on more of a "girlfriend" level.
The Sergeant Majorette says:
Remember the non-hug at the end of the CoS movie? That was deliberate foreshadowing of the unresolved sexual tension between Ron/Hermione that JKR knew we'd be seeing in the future.
I (Tiffany) say:
I completely agree with you on the above statement.
Tiffany
