Harry has nothing to do with it. We're talking the inevitability of
Ron/Hermione here. Hermione knows that Ron has feelings for her;
however, she seems to have figured that all she has to do is wait for
him to grow up a little.
Enter Luna, who (to my mind at least) is clearly attracted to Ron.
We've known since GoF that the Lovegoods live near the Weasleys, so
perhaps they're family friends. Just as Viktor's interest in Hermione
is a wake-up call to Ron, so Luna's interest in Ron should light a
fire under Hermione's butt.
I'm just saying that Hermione may have to take steps to secure her
territory, as it were...
