bboy_mn:

Just my opinion, but I don't think Trewlawny is a fraud; she is a
trance medium. The problem with being a trance medium is that you only
make predictions when you are in a trance. Since she is in a trance or
altered state of consciousness, she doesn't remember anything.

That means she may have made hundreds of accurate predictions in her
lifetime, but since no one was around to hear or record them, and
since she couldn't remember them, they were lost.

While what you propose may be possible, I think a better test is 'is
it likely'. In a story that is already very complex with so many
currently unsolved mysteries, and only two books left, would it be
wise for JKR to add another mystery to the story. I'm finding it hard
believe that she (JKR) can wrap up all the mysteries we DO know about
in only two books. I just don't see room for the story to become more
complicated. If anything, she will spend the next two books resolving
mysteries.

Of course, I can't by any means say that you are wrong. Perhaps what I
am really saying is that, if I have to deal with one more unforseen
unexpected plot twist, my head will explode.

Still, while I don't believe your point, it is an interesting possibility.
