Well, I suspect it will depend on several factors...

The most important will be *when* he did this killing/torturing.
The next will be why he did it, and whether or not he had a choice in the
matter.
The third will be whether or not he believes in present time that what he
did was right, or if he shows 'true remorse' for having done it.

And then the rest will be up to each indiviudal reader, thier experinces,
their ability to forgive, and so forth.

It will certianly get our board lit up again! lol
