Nope. The only thing Alan Rickman did for my Snape crush was
make it respectable <g>. I fell for Snape at the end of GoF when
he bared his past, shook hands with the man who tried to
murder him and went off to face who knows what danger, armed
with only his wand and his wits ::sigh::
If anything, it's Shakespear contamination. You know, irascible
bullying freak tamed by a judicous application of firmness and
sex appeal. Kate and Petruchio with the genders reversed. Self
flattering nonsense, of course, but highly entertaining all the
same. I admit that tamed Snape wouldn't be nearly as
interesting a character, but that doesn't mean I can't think of a
better use for all that passion and eloquence than tormenting
little boys. <veg>

I don't suppose Snape would be a knockout, but that's not to say
he won't clean up well. A little confidence, a little artifice,
some attention to the hair and teeth and voila! Remember
Hermione at the ball?
