Yes, very true...I would think that Hermione always knew she was a 
witch and probably saw the entrance to Diagon Alley well before she 
received her Hogwarts letter at 11 yrs. If that be true, then she 
would have just walked in and out of Diagon Alley freely and maybe 
bought the books.....But that is just my opinion....Hermione's family 
could have been attacked by LV when he and his deatheaters were on the 
rise, she could have encountered him well before reading about him.
