Gryffindor, Flitwick is perfect for Ravenclaw, and with what little
is shown for Hufflepuffs and Professor Sprout, how could you doubt
that she was a Hufflepuff at school? So that said, Severus is also a
perfect example for Slytherin...he has the thirst to prove himself,

I think the idea of HoH backgrouds is one of the areas that lots of
us disagree on. Canon is lacking and we can each draw our own
conclusions. I think McGonagall could easily be a Ravenclaw.
Flitwick could be a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.

For that matter, look at the ones we do know, could we put them in
other houses as well? Percy could be a Slytherin (a good one, of
course) Ron could be a Hufflepuff (he's loyal) We just don't know
about the adults. Either adults' houses weren't important for us to
know, it was no longer important to the adults themselves, or it will
be important later that it was unknown in the beginning.

I cannot imagine that in the WW, any adult is concerned about which
house the other adults were in. Take the Healers. You could have 4
healers, each from different houses of Hogwarts. The Slytherin would
work to become head of the department, the Gryffindor would attempt
the dangerous unproven procedure, the Hufflepuff would take time to
comfort the parents of a sick child and the Ravenclaw would be the
one who would find the answers to the hard to diagnose cases.

Back to thread, I think dyed in the wool Slytherin families would
prefer a pureblood HoH. I don't think they would object to someone
from a different house unless that person held anti-Slytherin views.
And I bet you could find a biased pureblood in any of the houses.

Potioncat (who also believes Snape was and is a Slytherin and that
being a Slytherin is not bad)
