I'll bet you're right, or at the very least that they would work with him 
effectively...the other Heads of Houses all backed him up without hesitation in 
CoS when he called Lockhart's bluff, and nobody seemed surprised or taken aback 
either that he had come up with the idea or that McGonagall, Flitwick and 
Sprout followed his lead, in spite of the fact that he's the youngest and 
probably the least-liked of the four.
