Not to mention that if DD or others KNEW how to create such a
weapon...if they knew what "ingredients" it took to defeat
Voldy...why not just develop them in themselves? Why would it
require a new baby?

I also do NOT agree with Del's comment in a previous response that
this would not prove problematic for the role of CHOICE in the series
since there really isn't any choice already for Harry. I hear it
argued all the time that Harry has no CHOICE, but I do not agree.
JKR tells us that it *is* our choices which show what we are. And
while I agree that Harry's burden is greater than others and that his
choices are narrower, he DOES have the choice to refuse to fight.
Yes, yes, he'd still want to live and knows that Voldy would kill him
if he doesn't watch out, but he DIDN'T have to make all the noble
choices he has made so far, and he COULD say, "F*** you, Dumbledore.
I'm outta here. I'm heading to the Outback and minding my own."

*We* know it's not likely that Harry would make that choice because
we've seen the choices Harry's made and the actions he's taken so
far, but that doesn't mean the choice isn't there.
