I think this scenario is a possibility, Juli--that Voldy might have 
been aware of the no-apparition rule and/or the impossibility of 
getting away from Hogwarts w/o its being obvious to DD.  OTOH, I also 
think it's possible that Snape could have gotten there.  Much is made 
of "You can't apparate on Hogwarts grounds," but how far is it to the 
Hogwarts gates?  What would it take--5 or 10 mins.?--to step outside 
the grounds and apparate?

Siriusly Snapey Susan, who can't wait to find out what Snape *did* do 
that night DD sent him off.
