I see your point, and unfortunately since I don't have my copy of 
POA here I can't give you the quote that I have been referring to.
I recall it being in The Shrieking Shack scene during Sirius 
monologue explaining how Peter became secret keeper, the line goes 
something like "I expected that they (The DEs) would come after me, 
and not a weakling like Peter".
