Snape--Abusive?

Can I just say this is something that really annoys me about 
Harry? I love him, honestly, and I really do like him much better 
as a person, though not as character, than I like Snape but 
really...I'm fifty-two years old. I've met a lot of good people and a 
lot of people who had, shall we say, a whole lot of room for 
improvement. But I've never met *anybody* I could size up in a 
single look.
