I like both interpretations, it rings true that if Jo chose Nagini 
species as carefully as we assume that her 'Lord Voldemort' would 
own a Snake with such a sinister connotations in it's species name 
as "Creeping Death" or "Destiny Changer".

Cute! *chuckle*, I am just thinking that perhaps Jo introduced us to 
the Weird Sisters to get us thinking about the fates. 
If Lachesis is the third sister what are the names of the other two?
