Break curses, wrangle dragons, heal the sick, play Quidditch, raise
magical plants, chase the bad guys, open a shop, teach the young,
practice politics, breed kneazles, brew Potions, steal cauldrons,
liase with Muggles, support the Dark Lord, fight the Dark Lord...

And these are just some of the possibilities that we've seen in a
story that is distinctly *not* about the economics of Wizarding.

On the contrary, the insularity of the Wizarding world and the
problems that breeds seem to be central to the story JKR is telling.
