Is DD dead?

I was thinking about what DD said to Harry one time when 
Harry asked if LV was gone forever and DD said to Harry 
there are other ways that he can come back. I was wondering 
if anybody else thought that maybe DD knew of ways to come 
back. Just a thought. Also I do think that SS was trying to 
still teach Harry at the end of HBP because he surely could 
have killed him or taken him back to LV.
