Pippin: I've looked over your list of alternative plans you say 
Hermione could have used to escape from Umbridge's clutches and with 
out exception they seem pretty harebrained to me. I certainly 
wouldn't trust any of them to save my life because, unlike 
Hermione's original plan, for any of your ideas to work Umbridge 
would have to do something incredibly stupid.  They are all 
equivalent to: Hey Professor Umbridge your shoelace is untied; and 
then when she looks down at her feet
.. 

Umbridge may not be a genius bur she's not THAT dumb.
