Renee:
This refers to Pippin's theory that it wasn't Peter Pettigrew who
was the spy that betrayed the Potters in the first Voldemort war,
but Lupin (using the codename Wormtail), who joined Voldemort
because of the way the Wizarding World treats werewolves. But as
Pippin has a tendency to treat her own speculations as canon
evidence in discussions (especially where Lupin and Snape are
concerned), this can be confusing to those unaware of the ESE!Lupin
theory.

Renee
who wonders where in canon it says that Snape ever sought pardon.
