Pippin:
Peter didn't answer the question. He asked another, "What 
was there to gain by refusing him?" --but that has implications 
for the current situation, where he is also being bullied by a more 
powerful wizard who is threatening to kill him.
What has Peter to gain by refusing Sirius?  Only more shouting 
--I think he just wanted it to end.
