May I suggest to all involved that the resolution of this point won't 
make much difference to canon interpretation? This is a philosophical 
debate best pursued elsewhere? Because What Gerry Really Meant may be 
fascinating, but in and of itself, it doesn't have all that much to 
do with Harry Potter.
