     I have wondered if Snape grabbing his arm "as though something on 
it had hurt him" was just that.  Perhaps it was similar to the pain in 
Harry's scar while talking to Umbridge.  A matter of timing.  Perhaps 
Voldemort happened to call his Deatheaters at that moment in time and 
Snape was forced to break off the conversation.  I do like the 
Legilimency idea though and I am not a huge proponent of the Snape 
spying theory.  It could be that V activated the mark at that time to 
torment Snape for not being available to him.  We also know that Snape 
is now in the Order and has known the real Moody for some time.  It 
could also be that this conversation warns Snape that something else is 
going on. I don't believe that Snape is afraid of Moody.
