This is a wonderful comment and connection, and I'm surprised more
people aren't discussing it, because it's become TREMENDOUSLY
relevant now that we've discovered that the Half-Blood Prince is
Snape. Someone asked if the title just signified that "Prince" was
Snape's mom's maiden name. I think it's much more than that, and I
think this is it. The Prince isn't just Snape's name, it's who he
is: he's Machiavelli's Prince as exemplified by Severus. I think
this gives us great insight into his motives and personality.

I'm of the opinion that Snape is definitely on the good side, and a
decent person deep down, but that doesn't mean he's not ambitious
and self-serving as well...

who notes that Irma Pince is an anagram for "I am Prince"
